OUR STORY

Who would ever imagine the tragic death of a 7-year-old old girl in rural southwestern Ohio would impact thousands of people for decades to come?

The story of young Dorothy Love is one of a life cut short. However, her accidental death served as a catalyst for a selfless gesture made by family friends to honor her memory. The gift of 294 acres by Moses Russell and his sisters Martha and Elizabeth is now the site of Ohio Living Dorothy Love, the first of 13 campuses known today as Ohio Living communities.

The philanthropic spirit exhibited by the Russell family set the tone for the future and the mission of our organization. The promise they made almost 100 years ago has become a legacy for Ohio Living to honor.

The Ohio Living Foundation continues the legacy of the Russell family by nurturing a philanthropic environment throughout Ohio Living, encouraging annual and future support of our mission. Thousands of donors and volunteers help bring life to that generous spirit by creating and enhancing programs and services, making a valuable difference in the lives of those we serve.

We are dedicated to our mission and to the promises we make. We cherish our history and continue to clarify our vision for a bright future. We believe young Dorothy Love and her family would be gratified to witness how her life has been honored through our organization's ongoing commitment to caring for others.
