Cathy Koerner, Marketing Director at Cape May Retirement Village, was one of seven outstanding residents honored recently at the annual "Leaders of the Year" Gala in a Roberts Centre ballroom, Wilmington. According to the "Wilmington News Journal," media sponsor for the 2012 Leaders of the Year Gala, Koerner was honored as distinguished Leadership Clinton alumnus.

I recently attended a seminar and learned about the value of friendships as we age. I wanted to share a little information on this topic, so you can learn about the social, emotional, and physical benefits of friendship. As we age, social contact and friendships are often a priority need. Social wellness can have a profound impact on a person's ability to deal with stress.

The event was a huge success due to the support and hard work of many people throughout the Wilmington Community. Nancy Price, the daughter of a Cape May resident, volunteered to chair this event.
