Westminster-Thurber Hosts International Conference

In early June, people from throughout the world gathered at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus for the Eden Alternative 4th International Conference in alliance with AOPHA, The Advocate of Not-For-Profit Services for Older Ohioans. Hosted by Westminster-Thurber Community, the only registered Eden community in Central Ohio, the conference provided world-class learning opportunities in Eldercare for nearly 350 individuals from 11 countries and 30 states. During the conference, Westminster-Thurber received the Master Gardener Award, which recognizes an Eden Registered Home’s commitment and journey toward bringing the Eden Alternative Principles to life throughout its organization. Dr. William Thomas, Founder of the Eden Alternative and Nancy Fox, CEO of Eden, presented the award.

Atwood Named Administrator for Dorothy Love Retirement Community

Dorothy Love Executive Director Ann Roller today announced Tricia Atwood has been named Administrator for the retirement community at 3003 West Cisco Road. Atwood comes to Dorothy Love from Piqua Manor where she has worked for the past 11 years. She began this leadership position November 5.

Snyder Named Associate Executive Director for Lake Vista of Cortland

Troy A. Snyder has been named Associate Executive Director for Lake Vista of Cortland, an Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services (OPRS) community. Snyder has more than 15 years experience in the health care field and is a licensed nursing home administrator. For the last seven years, Snyder has served as a regional manager for a large nursing home chain and was responsible for full oversight of nine long-term care facilities. He is a graduate of Penn State University where he earned a degree in Health Policy Administration. Troy also served in the US Marines.

Dorothy Love Celebrates Construction of Suites

Thanks to the generosity of donor support, another high quality living option will soon be available at Dorothy Love Retirement Community located at 3003 West Cisco Rd. Residents, staff and community leaders today gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the new Suites at Dorothy Love. The 2,112 sq. ft. addition will contain two two-room suites located in Health Care West. The “Suites” will have a resident bedroom, including a bathroom and a living room, complete with a kitchenette.
