Exploring Hueston State Park by boat

It was a beautiful day on Acton Lake for residents of Ohio Living Mount Pleasant who experienced a fun-filled outdoor adventure last week.

Activities Coordinator Lisa Varney invited residents from independent living, as well as Brownstone and apartment homes, on her pontoon boat to explore Hueston Woods State Park in Oxford, Ohio.  During their trip on the lake, residents viewed the park’s beach, Hueston Woods lodge and cabins overlooking the lake.

For lunch, they had a picnic with gorgeous views overlooking Acton Lake.

When venturing off the boat, the group explored the park on foot.  They also made a trip to the Nature Center, where they could learn about the park’s history and view several native reptile and bird species.

The trip was so popular with residents that Lisa said she took three different groups on her pontoon boat.  “(It was) a great day, needless to say!” she added.
