Ohio Living Collects Donations for Mid-Ohio Food Bank

“I just wanted to give back.”

It’s only her first year at Ohio Living and Anny McCoy is rallying her co-workers to collect food and other supplies for people in need this holiday season.

Anny, who has several friends who volunteer with local organizations, reached out to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. She says “they were very excited” when she called.

Just over a week ago, Anny sent a request to her co-workers at Ohio Living’s headquarters in Columbus, asking them to donate non-perishable food and toiletry items. She included a list of desired items, showing how each could be used in meals, as healthy snacks and for personal care.

The deadline for donations is the same day as Ohio Living’s Thanksgiving potluck; a great way to honor the holiday.

“I think we did pretty well,” Anny said looking over the hundreds of items donated by her colleagues.

Items donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank are distributed to 650 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after-school programs and senior housing sites across central and eastern Ohio.
