Ohio Living communities honored for quality
Four Ohio Living life plan communities were honored with the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award for quality in skilled nursing services. Ohio Living Cape May, Lake Vista, Llanfair and Mount Pleasant each received this exclusive recognition for demonstrated outcomes in quality - and quality of life.
Only 11% of skilled nursing facilities nationally earn this distinction, presented annually by the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA).
Award recipients are identified using publicly collected data by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which is pulled and evaluated by an independent third party. Administrators of those high-performing facilities are celebrated and honored during the ACHCA's national awards ceremony held at the annual Convocation and Exposition each spring.
"We're proud to be recognized for our high standard of quality," said Laurence C. Gumina, chief executive officer of Ohio Living. "As a not-for-profit organization, the well-being of our residents and patients is at the heart of everything we do. Each resident and patient deserves our very best effort, and our quality measures prove that we are living up to that belief."
The Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award was introduced by one of the ACHCA's most revered leaders, the late Eli Pick, in 2008. Eli worked with colleague John Sheridan of eHealth Data Solutions to develop an awards program the uses data-driven criteria to objectively identify high-performing skilled nursing facilities and the leaders who make them excel.
Ohio Living is one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit, multi-site senior living organizations. Each year, Ohio Living serves more than 73,000 people through one of our 12 life plan communities and Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice. Our Ohio-based services range from a variety of housing options in one of our communities through the full continuum of care to post-acute home health and hospice support for adults, wherever they live. Additionally, the Ohio Living Foundation raises several million dollars annually to support charity care, special programs, capital expansion and endowment.
