Gardner Pie Company Honors Ohio Living Frontline Workers

Posted on May 11, 2020 in

Akron, Ohio – On Wednesday, May 6, Gardner Pie Company generously donated 245 fresh-baked apple pies to each frontline employee of Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice in greater Akron and Ohio Living Rockynol. This gift, made on the first day of National Nurses’ Week, was given in gratitude to the essential workers who are keeping Akron safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our teammates in both locations were surprised and excited to receive a pie today,” said Laurie Toth, Director of Business Development for Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice. “Each person within Ohio Living, no matter their role, works hard to keep residents and patients safe and lift their spirits during this time. They feel appreciated knowing that others believe in the value of the work they do.”

Dana Wherley, Ohio Living Rockynol’s Director of Human Resources, agrees: “It is so satisfying to have community support for our hard working teammates. They were so happy to be blessed with the delicious pie from Gardner, and their smiles were amazing. We are proud of the work we do, caring for our most vulnerable — and to have such a wonderful donation is much appreciated!”
