Receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine

Posted on December 28, 2020 in

This past week marks a significant milestone in our continued fight against the pandemic, as we began to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to interested staff and residents. While we know there’s still hard work and continued vigilance ahead of us, top-priority access to a life-saving vaccine is something to celebrate.

Today, I received the vaccine at Ohio Living Sarah Moore. I believe it’s a critical step in our “return to normal,” and have full confidence in its safety and effectiveness. As an essential worker, I know that I play an essential role. For me, getting the vaccine adds one more layer of protection for everyone I come into contact with.

Secondly, I wanted to ensure our goals concerning this vaccination effort were clearly identified and shared. We are partnering with the Ohio Department of Health, as well as Walgreens to administer the vaccine, and we have two clear goals: To save lives and slow the spread of the virus.

Building defenses against COVID-19 is a team effort. Wearing a mask, keeping a six-foot distance and washing our hands, coupled with the vaccine, provides even greater protection for all of us. As more and more people get vaccinated, we move one step closer to finding ourselves on the other side of this virus.

I am honored and proud to serve alongside you,
