Dedication Ceremony for New Rehab Center – July 11, 2014
Posted on July 11, 2014 in Rehabilitation
Today, we will celebrate the Dedication Ceremony and open house of Llanfair’s new Rehab Center. This exciting event will begin at 2 p.m. in the Llanfair Campus Center Great Room.
The new Rehab Center is focused on creating a culture of resiliency in which guests who are in need of a short term rehabilitation stay can work directly with trained therapy professionals to regain their independence and return home as quickly as possible.
After the Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, guests will visit the new Rehab Center and tour through the therapy gym, private dining room, rehab studios, guest lounges and have a chance to meet and talk with residents and staff.
Outfitted with an assortment of modern and advanced equipment for physical and occupational therapies, the therapy gym is the foundation in which guests will begin their road to resiliency and revitalization. Trained therapists will work with guests using equipment such as: therapeutic ultrasound machine, paraffin bath, walking harness and rail system, Nustep machine, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (for pain relief) and Biodex Balance System Trainer (for balance issues most commonly used following orthopedic injuries, concussions and falls). The therapy gym also includes a fully functional occupational therapy suite equipped with complete kitchen and laundry room for rehab guests to practice real life applications.
The private dining room in the Rehab Center is a warm and inviting space which includes an extensive ala carte menu, cook-to-order style dining, Heart Healthy menu options and table-side ordering.
In each of the nineteen private rehab studios, guests will enjoy a flat screen television, personal telephone, large windows, private baths and special lounge chairs for visiting friends and family members.
Throughout the entire rehab center, guests will be surrounded with a spa-like feel with neutral aesthetics and comfortable setting to enhance the relaxation period for after intense therapy sessions.
“In order to succeed, people need a sense of self-efficacy, to struggle together with resilience to meet the inevitable obstacles and inequities of life.” - Albert Bandura. That is what we hope to provide to our rehab guests in our new Rehab Center – a sense of community that encourages our guests to rebound, adapt, and visualize, in their own way, how to bounce back.
Over the next few weeks, we will share more information about our new center, the medical professionals who will be caring for you and the special features and amenities you will enjoy.
