Belfance to Lead Rockynol

Posted on November 30, 2006 in In The News

Leslie K. Belfance has been named Executive Director of Rockynol Retirement Community. In her new role, Belfance will oversee all operations of the Akron not-for-profit continuing care retirement community.

Belfance succeeds Mary Cochran, who has been named Associate Vice President, Operations, for Rockynol’s parent company, Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services (OPRS).

In their new roles, both Belfance and Cochran will continue to serve the needs of older adults in Ohio’s northeast region.

“Leslie’s love of serving older adults, her wonderful leadership qualities and strong Akron ties make her well-suited to take on this leadership role,” Cochran said. “Having had the good fortune of working closely with Leslie over this past year, I am extremely confident she will serve Rockynol’s residents and the broader community extremely well in the years ahead.”

“Rockynol will continue its compassionate mission of offering peace of mind, spiritual enrichment and excellent care to our family of residents,” Belfance said. “Because of the dedication of our wonderful staff, we are able to meet the unique needs of our residents on a daily basis,” Belfance said.

Belfance, most recently served as Rockynol’s Associate Executive Director, was Rockynol’s Administrator from 2002 to 2005. Belfance has held leadership positions in the long-term care industry since 1995. She is an active member of many Akron- and Ohio-based service organizations.

Rockynol is one of 11 retirement communities owned and operated by OPRS with headquarters in Columbus. Each year, OPRS serves more than 4,500 residents in its 11 retirement communities and more than 49,000 people in 36 Ohio counties through Senior Independence, its home- and community-based services division.
