Rockynol residents experience Tai Chi’s benefits

Rockynol residents are reaping the benefits of Tai Chi. Nancy G, from NG Energy, has led weekly Tai Chi classes for this enthusiastic senior group for over a year. One energetic participant quickly squats down like an athlete and pops back into a standing position, demonstrating how she now has increased flexibility in her knees and less pain. Another resident’s eyes fill with tears as she explains the stress of being a caregiver to her husband, but how she feels less tension and is enjoying more restful sleep since committing to tai chi.

Hagarty Named Gift Planning Director for Rockynol

Debra K. Hagarty has been named gift planning director for the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services (OPRS) Foundation serving Rockynol Retirement Community in Akron. Hagarty is responsible for managing Rockynol’s major gift program. She will be on campus regularly to assist Rockynol supporters through outright gifts, deferred gifts or their estate plans.

Rockynol Retirement Community, 1150 E. Market Street, Akron, has attained a five- year re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC). CARF/CCAC is an independent, merged nonprofit that accredits aging services and other human services organizations.
