Swan Creek Retirement Village Awarded Grant to Help Residents in Financial Crisis Keep Homes

TOLEDO, OH (SEPTEMBER 03, 2015) - The Board of Trustees of the Toledo Community Foundation has approved a $2,500 grant from the Robert A. Stranahan Jr. Charitable Advised Fund to Swan Creek Retirement Village for the Life Care Commitment, which helps residents in financial crisis keep their homes.

Life Care dates back to the founding of Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services (OPRS), the parent company of Swan Creek.

The Life Care Commitment, backed by OPRS with the help of charitable support, helps assure Swan Creek residents that they will always have a home even if – in good faith – they run out of the funds meant to see them through. OPRS has kept this commitment since its founding in 1922.

Life Care is a confidential program; residents receiving support from Life Care receive the same quality of care and services regardless of their ability to pay.

“Swan Creek is blessed with this generous gift from the Stranahan Foundation. Residents who no longer have the funds to pay for their stay at Swan Creek can rest assured their needs will be met each and every day,” said Swan Creek Executive Director, Ann Roller.
