A Trio Film Experience 2018
Posted on July 16, 2018 in Active Aging, Learning
Films can provide a wonderful medium to learn about life. A film can transport us in time and location and assist us in self discovery about the mysteries of life and the lesson we can learn from life experiences. Unfortunately, society often paints a picture of aging in a negative light. A Trio Film Experience is an intentional program to counter the prevailing notion of aging as a “decline” and instead, consider the possibility of late life transformation, integrity and transcendence.
A Trio Film Experience was founded by the same facilitators of ElderQuest, the annual eight-week film study in partnership with the Lifelong Learning Institute. With the themes and structure of ElderQuest, each session will conclude with a facilitated discussion. Join us as we explore three different films. You’re not a movie-goer or film enthusiast? Don’t let that stop you from enjoying the movie experience with us. All are welcome.
“The excitement of learning separates youth from old age. As long as you’re learning you’re not old.”
- Rosalyn S. Yalow
Films to be explored:
August 2: A Model for Matisse
August 9: The Spitfire Grill
August 16: A Man Called Ove
Join us at 1pm in the Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber auditorium. Come to one or all three sessions—it’s your choice. Free event.
