August 2023 Resident Spotlight: Amy Bridge

Posted on August 29, 2023 in In The News

Ohio Living Mount Pleasant resident Amy Bridge is one tough lady! Over the years, she’s worn a flurry of career hats, from zoologist to sales pro, to small business owner, and even auctioneer!

After completing zoology training, she worked at King’s Island Lion Country Safari, and in 1978, began a new career as a retail sales representative for Eastman Kodak and later, with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. Upon taking an early retirement in 2021, today, Amy has a successful antique business (which is still active). Interestingly, she also obtained her Ohio Auctioneer License.

Amy has lived on her own for more than 36 years. She has risen to every occasion and independently managed everything from buying a house and car, to completing yard work and key repairs. She lived in a semi-rural area and didn’t have much community outside of her loving niece, which prompted a move to Ohio Living Mount Pleasant. “I can’t express how wonderful my current neighbors are,” explained Amy. “Maintenance-free living has improved my life.”

Amy’s favorite words to live by are “Love your God with all of your heart, love all and do no harm.” It hasn’t happened yet, but her greatest accomplishment will be to hear the words, “Well done, my faithful servant.” In recent past, Amy thought she was suffering from a very bad gall bladder attack, and she drove herself to the hospital. Medical professionals deemed it was a widow-maker heart attack, but the incident has given her a new lease on life.

“Talk to a marketing representative about moving to Ohio Living Mount Pleasant,” urged Amy. “You’ll improve your life and also, give a gift to your loved ones of not having to make the hard decisions of finding a good fit for you.”
