Native American History and Culture by Janice (Sunflower) Trytte

Originally from Oklahoma, Janice is a historian, re-enactor, professional hornist (French horn) and native flutist dedicated to lifelong study.  “Visitors from the plains” Hands on, interactive living history program.  Janice as “Sunflower” reenacts the fur trade era with artifacts related to the lives of the Plains Indian, Soothing native flute music calms and opens the ears.  A buckskin shirt is passed from hand to hand to be weighed and worn on the arm.  Participate are shown and invited to touch bison and deer hides, smell white sage, see gourds, “hear” “deer toes” and more engaging all senses.

Jeter Memorial Organ Concert will feature returning artist Paul Rosas from San Diego, CA.  His narrated composition, “Kyrie,” will be accompanied by The Village Ringers, Mount Pleasants Hand bell Choir.  We encourage you to attend this exciting, annual free organ concert given on the stunning four manual Allen Millennium Renaissance Organ in our Mary H. Kittredge Chapel.

Wyoming Winds is a traditional concert band of 40 volunteer musicians of many professional backgrounds.  They will entertain us with Broadway tunes, old favorites, patriotic and classical arrangements with a balance of the full woodwind section, brass section and percussion.  Spend the evening enjoying a warm symphonic sound!
