November 2023 Employee Spotlight: Jackson D., STNA

Our November employee of the month, Jackson D., has been making a difference in the lives of Ohio Living Mount Pleasant residents since he was 15 years old. After kicking off his career with our culinary team at Café 210, Jackson later decided to undergo training to become an STNA.
“Being an STNA working in the nursing center, we serve not only our campus residents, but also the greater community, if they need rehab, long-term care or assisted living care,” he shared. “The most rewarding thing about my job is working with the independent residents at Café 210, as I just started as an STNA. I really enjoy taking care of the residents, being positive, and making both the residents and staff smile.”
This fall, Jackson started nursing school at Miami University to further his education.
“After I get my BSN, RN, I plan to go back to school to become a nurse practitioner,” said Jackson. “If you plan on entering the healthcare field, my tip is to be ready for long hours and be 100% sure this is your passion!”
When he’s not working, Jackson enjoys playing video games and cheering for Arsenal F.C., his favorite soccer team. His mother and brother also work at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant in culinary and independent care, respectively.
