Ohio Living Mount Pleasant resident spotlight for October is Janet!

Posted on October 17, 2022 in

Our resident spotlight for this month is Janet! Janet has lived at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant for 15 years. Janet loves the maintenance-free lifestyle, new friendships she had made and location of the campus. “I could join in various volunteer work in Middletown.” Likewise, she expressed many of her friends from church had moved here, so she had thought about moving here long ago. “[One couple] after moving here said they liked it, so a year later I did too.” Previously, Janet lived in Cincinnati for 20 years before moving back to this area. Janet graduated from nursing school at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh in 1956. She married and had two boys and a girl. She played tennis, sang in choirs and played piano for musical shows at Middletown Lyric Theater. She still enjoys the piano, volunteering at the Sorg Theater, community clean-ups, and baking cookies. Janet and her son also entertain when requested by playing the piano and saxophone. Janet has traveled in many music and choral groups to cities all over the world. When asked about her best decade, she highlighted everyone has been memorable. “Having six grandsons, one granddaughter, watching them grow up – Now [I’m] a great-grandmother to a one-year-old boy.” Some significant lessons she has learned include, “Be kind, don’t sweat the small stuff – it’s all small stuff – help others, recycle and save the environment.” Furthermore, “Do onto others as you would have others do onto you and smile a lot.” Lastly, one thing Janet never got around to is going to Australia – as she has met nice people from there. Please congratulate Janet as our resident spotlight for October!
